Responsible for the Enterprise Oracle Data Warehouse Support and Development. Manage the Oracle DWH Development and DBA Teams consisting of 10 application developers and 4 DBAs. Coordinate and prioritize the business requirements and assist with Operational aspects of DWH including Oracle Performance Tuning and SLA monitoring using Oracle Grid Control. Actively involved with all aspects of Oracle DBA Production and Development Support for OLTP/DSS Systems.
Chronos
Saved over $2 million per year in licensing costs with an internal yet simple and robust integrated job scheduler and file transfer system. Chronos allows agentless execution of the jobs on any remote Windows/Unix environments using the standard RCP/RSH/SSH protocols. The file transfers tasks supports any remote servers using the popular protocols: RCP/FTP/SFTP/FTPS. Initially was built as an internal departmental tool; however, due to high availability and stability it turned out into a successful Enterprise Platform. Currently the system is up and running for over 5 years with zero downtime and no system reboots.
Atrium
Atrium is a sophisticated home grown full ETL system. It offers a high integration with the Oracle DB by leveraging the native RDBMS processing while maintaining the high availability and job failover and load balancing capabilities. Using Atrium allowed us to dramatically decrease the time to market release cycles.

Data Warehouse Migration
Successfully migrated 100TB Data warehouse environment from the old Unix Tru64 based operating system and Oracle 9i to Oracle 11g running on the latest RHEL release. Due to platform constraints and user SLAs we were faced with a lot of challenges and used several techniques to accomplish a minimum downtime.
Datacenter Migration
Successfully accomplished zero downtime while switching storage vendors and physical locations for our datacenters. Used various Oracle technologies: Oracle RAC, Oracle ASM, multipath devices, Oracle Dataguard, F5 load balancing and others.

Payment Portal
Saved over $20 million per year by building a Payment Portal which offers an integrated Web/IVR/Mobile solution for all types of payments for customers and collections groups: Credit Cards, Debit Cards, MoneyGram, Western Union, ACH and recurring ACH. By using the Payment Portal integrated platform additional modules has been deployed maximizing the cost benefit even more: eStatements, Lexus Nexus address validation and return mail, Collection Management, Recovery Management, Bankruptcy Management and fraud detection. The system increased productivity and enabled the SOX and PCI audit requirements using web based 3tier architecture and Oracle TDE technologies while maintaining the interface with the existing legacy COBOL system.

The presentation reviewed the Oracle Parallel option feature and the performance problems can arise if not used properly.
